On one occasion there was a young boy who happened to see a chrysalis trying to come out from its cocoon. At the glimpse of the struggle, the boy took a fancy to soothe its pain. He took a penknife and dissected the cocoon, letting the fly find its way out effortlessly. The butterfly instantly got relieved of its long haul. Yet impuissant; it could not spread its wings and fly. Consequently, it is forced to drag its body once and for all.
Life tests us ofttimes. Living is not as easy as pie. It's alike to the struggling chrysalis which endeavours to come out as a glowing butterfly through laceration. The journey will be agonizing, stinging, uncertain as well as vexatious. It will be desperate to set things in motion but remember there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. But what if u attempt to run away from the harrowing journey? You will land up like the feeble butterfly. Getting out of the cocoon is smarting. But do you know the meagre vent of the cocoon is necessary for the survival of the butterfly? The butterfly must pump fluids from its abdomen through the veins in its wings, which causes the wings to expand to their full size. This would not happen if it is straightforwardly alleviated from its cocoon. Struggle makes us stronger. If we were to live a life without difficulties, life would not be viable. In order to fly, our wings should be stronger. Adversities are what make life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful! As quoted by Maya Angelou, We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.
Life gives us challenges
To make us stronger
To make us grown and developed so that
One day we could
Spread our wings and fly!
The metamorphosis of the butterfly indoctrinates us some prime facets of life. It does not turn up in vibrant colours within a day. Life does not go from birth to death without the journey. so we must wait patiently to breeze through life.
Yes! The journey is painful and the struggle is real. It will be gloomy when going through the changes. But that's how transformation happens. We must embrace changes to survive. Change is inevitable because it moulds you. Change can be scary. It feels like you are travelling on a road you never travelled before. But is constant. Start to see change as an opportunity to learn and recreate yourselves.
And finally, learn to fly. At the moment the butterfly gets rid of it's cocoon, it starts to fly. You cant see a fly crawling. There will be no more plague to weigh it down. It will capture your eyes, gives you hope, pleasure and poetry. Wear your scars as wings. Come out of your shell. Until you unfurl your wings you will have no idea how far you can fly. You have to spread your wings if you really want to fly. Take risks; Try new things; You were not born to be ordinary. You are beauteous, interesting and so wonderfully unique. You hold dreams and ideas inside you that no one else has ever thought of, and that the world so desperately needs. You do not need to pretend to be anyone other than who you really are. You are never meant to be in distress. You are a one in a million! Its time to let your wings out so you can finally soar!
Be like the butterfly, Experience the magnificence of being who you are!
